Jeju Island is ready to welcome tourists after two years. And to boost awareness and traffic to their official website, the Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) ramps up its online presence in key ASEAN markets like Malaysia. 

With the help of digital marketing specialists, JTO once again embarked in doing social media campaigns on Facebook. Facebook is one of the top social networking platforms in Malaysia.

JTO relied on a well-planned, content marketing strategy in order to effectively implements its social media campaign for Malaysia. Posts on JTO – Malaysia’s official Facebook page were tailored to appeal to potential travelers from the country. The organization also opted to use the Bahasa Malaysia language so they can efficiently connect with their target audience.  

An example would be its recent Our Blues-themed campaign. The KDrama titled Our Blues happens to be a big hit in Malaysia. Additionally, around 70% of the scenes from the series featured top and undiscovered attractions in Jeju Island.  

In turn, JTO came up with a curation of tourist spots from Jeju Island highlighted on Our Blues to entice Malaysians to visit the island. And in particular, the destinations where the popular KDrama series took place.
